There are two types of bed covers. The first is the bed cover which dresses up your bed, when you are not sleeping in it. Such a bed cover or duvet or comforter or bedspread is exactly what you need to make your bedroom look impressive, without much effort. Just throw on the bed cover and hide the mess.
The other bedcover protects the bed from filth. Sweat and other things that might stain the matress may be protected by a bed cover or mattress cover. Ones marital bed should certainly have a decent washable bed cover that protects the mattress.
